Exposure to a group of widely used 'forever chemicals' may increase diabetes risk in middle-aged women
A new study published in Diabetologia finds that exposure to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)—a large and diverse group of industrial chemicals found in many everyday products—is associated with an increased risk of developing diabetes in midlife women. The study is by Dr. Sung Kyun Park and colleagues at the Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, U.S..
